I literally stood in amazement when reading the informational recipes in the Scarsdale Diet because the foods that I thought I loved were unhealthy and the variety of substitutions were even more delicious and very healthy! I would often enjoy a slice of homemade apple pie and knew it was incredibly bad for my health. I'd eat it often with a scoop of my favorite ice cream while absorbing many fattening calories and throwing my blood sugar all over the place. Today I ask myself frequently why exactly I engaged in such erroneous and poor eating habits! The Scarsdale Diet plan had a recipe for raw apple pie that was wondrously delicious and I loved the flavor so much more than cooked apple pie! When I coupled that with a special homemade ice cream recipe provided in the diet plan, I was enjoying a dessert that was fantastic and extremely good for my health. After consuming the dessert, I actually felt wonderful rather than the sluggish feeling I would get after eating the junk food desserts. |

As you can witness, common apple pie wrecked havoc on my body and caused me to be obese. I didn't understand or comprehend the concept of how carbohydrates broke down within my body before I read the Scarsdale Diet plan. It was very interesting to acquire the knowledge that different types of carbohydrates digest differently and are burned by my metabolism in different ways. After I was educated by the Scarsdale Diet on the ways carbohydrates work, I continually make the right food choices. |

With the results that I achieved by using the Scarsdale Diet plan, I have found the "new me". I enjoy eating treats such as pie still, but I simply just choose to eat a more healthy and delicious version of it. You really can't go wrong if you are a dessert lover like I am because there are so many healthy dessert recipes that are included. I get unbelievably excited when I try out a new healthy recipe and find that the flavor and texture is actually better than the junk food. |
It is common for people to believe in a misconception that diet foods actually not as good as the "real" desserts. When I first decided to try the raw apple pie recipe (which was on my meal plan), I was incredibly skeptical and thought that there is no fathomable way that the flavor or texture would even come close to comparing with the real thing. I already had my mind made up that this would be a substandard apple pie, and the flavor would just be mediocre at best. As I was making the crust with fresh raw nuts, dates, and cinnamon, the smell made my mouth water. As I piled in the apples, and added the sweetened date mixture and a few spices, excitement came over me because I knew at that moment the pie would not only taste as good as the traditional pie, but be even better. Once tasted, I knew right away that I was hooked, and the Scarsdale Diet would change my life and health forever. My discovery with the Scarsdale Diet
I discovered that everything about this weight loss system was practical. The recipes would satisfy, the treats were wonderful, and it was mainly changing the way I ate rather than changing the quantity or snacks that I consumed. Many of the recipes utilize the ingredients to compliment each other to be metabolism enhancing, flavorful, and packed full of vitamins. The experience of eating this way was ironic, because I realized I trained myself to feel emotional shame after I had eaten a treat. After I had the raw apple pie, I noticed that I felt emotional shame but then realized, I basically just ate low calorie healthy fruit! There are no words to describe how wonderful the Scarsdale Diet and its recipe database are! |
